I know.... Where is Cris' latest post!? Here's latest in the saga of the Marlows Critters. :)

Ok where have I been? Right here. I have been having lots of various problems. Back, mild Carpel tunnel which was keeping me from doing all the Art I wish to be doing. And then a lovely nasty bug caught me and knocked me for a loop. So I decided to put my feet up and enjoy my views and read read read. On top of that I have about 11% memory left in my computer so down loading anything is getting next to impossible. So now that I am beginning to feel better I need to deal with a very old computer and lack of room for anything. I think an external hard drive will be in the works as my newest cameras photos  eats up the room on my computer. I have been doing some Art but not great art. I have done a lot of THIS. Feet up and enjoying my lovely garden. look who is peeking in at me.......look below.

Yep the sheep. They seem to have gotten used to us and Annie and like to lay up by us in the shade. The sheep with the long tail is Mz T but now I call her Carrots  as she loves them and comes running to me when ever I go out near the fence or out in the field calling Carrots. The other two mamas totally ignore me..but the babies come to me.
Look who else looks in at me and loves me to pet him. Carrots baby. He is adorable. I am sure going to miss them when they leave. Lexy is curious here.
The girls love to be around us too. See this spot we are sitting at?.... well Con decided to...

Pour a slab for us to sit on. Where we wont have to mow or water and it mostly dies since we are walking on it.  He is always thinking up new projects. :) but then he can relax too.. below...

 Who loves her Daddy?

The sheep find any shade they can.
but they like to be by us and the chickens.
The curiosity between these species is so cute.
Sorry if you are getting bored with these but I cant get enough.
The mamas are in the process of weening these aprox 5 to 6 week olds.
There are two males and one female. The black faced male is a crier. He seems to be the smallest too.  At first when it started bellowing, Annie came looking for me to do something about it. You should have seen her face and attitude..It bothered her it was crying. She turned into a worried mama. :)
Here's Carrots following the Kids who were feeding her what else.. carrots. :)
This is Lexy. She is the one that had no tail for the longest time. She now has a beautiful long tail with black feathers and look at her coloring. She is a Red Sex link. They  all love to sun themselves.
They are busy bug pickers too. Love those little ruffled butts. :)

And last not least my Pansies are lasting longer this year.
The colors are so pretty.
Anyway thats pretty much what is going on around here.
Now if I can only get my computer sorted out.
Have a lovely week.

Animal wednesday. Chickens and sheep update.

It smells as good as it looks!
Spring is my favorite time of year and here's one reason why.
Roses.. the first spring blooms are awesome. They will keep blooming but that first burst of blooms..
ahhh doesnt get any better.
I call her Mz T, because she is the only one with a tail of the mamas and she is the only one that comes to take the carrots from me. In fact she is the only one that eats them. We have made friends and since she likes me they all let the babies come up to me.
She came up to nozzle my hand. I cant pet them but they can nuzzle me.
I was holding the camera low  so as not to scare them and hoping I got some shots while all this was going on.
There are two males and one female.
Its so joyous watching them play. Especially in the evenings before dark.
I now know where the BUNNY HOP came from. I love to see them just hop hop hop.
I need to get a video but they don't do it when you watch you know. :)
And My girls, which are about 14 weeks old now, are owning the yard.
They have taken over this bench which is fine with me since the tree drops pitch.
I am so generous. lol
I dont know how we enjoyed our yard without these girls.
They add such ambiance.
Emma is flying well. She flew off the top down to the ground with no problems.
I knew she was going to fly off so I waited to get this shot.
They all are curious. Cant get enough of this.
So sweet. Suzi Q is the most interested in the sheep.
The sheep are more comfortable now and stay up closer to us finding the shade and carrots I bring often. :) Never under estimate the power of  FOOD. :)
You can see  one of our raised beds we have our veggies growing in. all enclosed in fencing as are  the trees.
They do eat everything but nothing we don't mind they eat out there. The are trimming the bushes we usually have to trim and cart to the dump.
Jills kids came with Carrots. Mz T was leary. She walked up and stomped her foot at them  but then..
Took a carrot ..oops.. it fell to the ground.
Now this is something I havent accomplished. The black faced mama coming up to me.
I think its because Annika is kneeing at their level. The black faced baby lamb comes to me more then the white lamb but he is getting better. The white lamb belongs to Mz T.
And I leave you with this shot.
Annie saying
GET UP AND GET OUTSIDE...WE GOT SHEEP TO HERD AND CHICKENS TO CHASE.
AND YOU LAY HERE DOING NOTHING???
LOL
HAPPY ANIMAL WEDNESDAY.

Cute On Overload for Animal Wedneday

The Girls sans Emma here. She was in the roses digging. :)
Whose that peeking in the inner garden?  Isn't he absolutely adorable? I was so hoping I would see this at some point while they are here.

 I just didn't expect this.
Susi Q, our Black Australorp Chicken, wanted to know who this was. I peeked out to see them nose to beak at the fence and grabbed my camera
Suzi didn't peck it once while I was watching. The girls are now 13 weeks old and that lamb is about two to three weeks old. Look how curious and  innocent they are. They spent a few minutes doing this.
Soon another lamb came to check out what he was doing and she kept standing there.

Then a mama came and checked out Suzi. Still she stood there.
Then they moved on and Suzi watched as if saying,
HEY, WHERE YA GOING? COME BACK..

I am so enjoying the Sheep. Its so much fun watching the three lambs running and playing with each other.
One of you said in a comment..joyous innocence. That's so true.
 Can't leave out Annie. :)
She is waiting on Con to throw her ball.
Look at that concentration.. You cant get her to look away until you let go of the ball either, and since her surgery a couple years ago to rebuild a knee ligament, we only toss it about that close now.
I looked behind me, while sitting there, to find the Girls taking a nap by me.
I spend as much time in our yard as I can now.
Except today. Its been nasty and wet. We do need the rain but I want to be out there with my critters. :)
Even these Critters.
I told you it was cute on overload.
:)
Happy Animal Wednesday!

Sketches for PPF. Lynns Visit, Chickens, Sheep, Babies and Roses and.......:)

Trying to get back to sketching , been having back and neck issues again so I just sat and did some journal sketching of Con pouring and smoothing a slab for our pergola. I had a bit of help--see below....
This is the next day and he is knocking off over flow cement along the edges and I have help taking photos as well as drawing the day before.
:)
Here it is with the picnic table under it and with Chickens leaving their calling card. :)
Its where I like to sit with my lap top or sketching equipment. Or eating at. :) I have a feeling that I will be sharing this space too. :)
We had a visit from Lynn and Fred on Monday.
The guys just picked up talking like they had only seen each other a couple days ago and its been a few months.
Lynn and I didn't miss a beat either. We shared our journals with each other.
So nice to see her work in person. It is so much richer in person.
All to soon it was time to say so long... But they will be back soon.

She got to see my Roses in their first Spring spectacular bloom.
 I wish I  had smellivision..
They smell HEAVENLY.. :)
The Starling baby's are out of the nest and wanting to be fed. Soon they will be off to their summer location.
Good as they eat us out of house and home. :)
Another quick sketch I did is of Cody,  who owns the sheep that graze out in the field. walking, 3 Mama Ewes and 3 two week old lambs, to OUR YARD for a month or so.. He had to move the rest of the flock due to lack of water and these three needed more care then crammed into a trailer with a herd of sheep to be transported elsewhere. They are ADORABLE. He had help with his 3 Border Collies. peeking thru the weeds. One behind and one on each side to head off the strays. Fascinating to watch. Its been 3 months since he said he would put some in our acre field behind our house. and I had given up ever getting any, but out of the blue yesterday, I get a call from him, and he was in the far field and would I meet him at the gate  if I would like some mamas and babies? YOU BET!!!! I tore out of the house with my camera to open the gate. :)
Here they are waiting to be herded into our yard. Two had Bumble-foot or foot rot, so he had to doctor them in our yard.
I  think they will have a better time of it in our field. Look at that white lamb soooo cute... I love that I got a variety of colors.
He is also going to come back to sheer that one soon.
This is how his dogs wait for him. I cant believe how well behaved they are.
Our View from our inner yard now. The wooden geese Con made and they actually seemed  to invite  four  Live Geese to land in our field for a few days.
The girls are happy and love sunshine.
They are 12 weeks old now and Own the back garden. :)
Color me Happy.
:)
HAPPY PAINT PARTY FRIDAY.
